The company participates in the development and operation of the national information system for ECDL and provides facilities for the ECDL – CZ working group.

CertiConVis

Our partner certicon and their representative Zdeněk Samuel, software engineer and manager of the Pilsen office, presented the newly developed artificial intelligence CertiConVis to the students. CertiConVis is a sophisticated system for analyzing images from cameras both in real time and from recordings. Currently, most camera systems act as evidence in case an undesirable situation happens. Hours and hours of tracking back footage, high error rates in analysis and the necessary use of the human factor make the procces very costly. Thanks to CertiConVis this all is the matter of past.

CertiConVis has a wide range of applications in many fields. It is designed for situations that require either immediate real-time intervention or for retrospective video analysis, so-called forensics. It will thus find its application not only as an innovative security feature based on artificial intelligence, but also as a sophisticated data collection system with a wide range of applications.

Project days

A project day focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) took place at the Nvias Learning Centre. Under the guidance of our mentors, the students learned about the basic concepts related to AI. Topics such as computer vision, speech technologies, text understanding and the social aspects of implementing AI were discussed. The students were able to try working with the Google Experiment AI Teachable machine (an image recognition tool). They also worked with the Google Assistant (voice recognition) and the Google DialogFlow tool for creating a chatbot. In addition to AI, students learned the basics of working with IoT and neural networks.

Once students have acquired all the necessary knowledge, it’s time to put it to the test in practice. The participants are divided into teams. The teams represent a newly formed start-up and are tasked with bringing their fictional company to success. At the end, the students present their projects. Students are given feedback and mentors advise on what needs the most work. Teams earned material prizes, kindly provided by our sponsor Certicon.
