Innovative Education - Cooperation with Bridge Academy

Thanks to the support of the local action group we were able to organize with our partner Bridge Academy project days Our Companies at schools in North Bohemia, where we do not usually operate.

Our Companies Project Days

The Our Companies Project Days aim to develop in primary and secondary school students the knowledge needed for their future professional life – creativity, critical thinking, teamwork and IT thinking. During the project day, pupils will learn the most important terms in the field of business economics and computer science. Pupils devise their own investment strategy, implement their marketing plan and present their company to others. They also have the unique opportunity to build and program a robot. All this is done with the support of mentors.

The Programme of the Project day

In the initial part, the students are divided into teams to represent the newly established company and each of them is assigned an important role, for example as a company director, production manager or marketing manager. It is essential to introduce the pupils to the issues discussed, in the form of a presentation. Afterwards, all the responsibility passes to the pupils, who have to put their company into operation. The young entrepreneurs have to allocate their investment wisely, come up with a name, a logo and a field of activity for their organisation. In order to start producing their product, the pupils have to correctly build and program a robot using a tablet app, which has to pass a technical check by our mentors. At the end, each team’s results are evaluated and the students present their company to the others.

“The financial education teacher they had immediately after the project had the students re-present everything and she was blown away by the concepts they used, how they understood the whole process and that they had mastered and understood in one morning what she sometimes tries to get into the kids in financial education for a whole year. The students were also very pleased.”

The event was also a great success in our eyes. We thank the Bridge Academy and ocal action group for their support and look forward to future project days!
